Ahhhh the “walk of shame.” Whether you have heard a story from a friend, walked past someone in a mini sparkle dress or experienced it first hand, you will find humor in this advertisement. Designer, Harvey Nichols tells women to “avoid the walk of shame this season” by wearing his clothing. If you wear Harvey Nichols, you will always look sophisticated and put together.

I will admit I think this ad is hilarious, because there is a lot of truth in it. However, it is my job as Rosie to critique it. I would first like to ask the question, do men take the walk of shame? The term is so heavily associated with women. When in fact, guys are equally as guilty. Men are often rewarded for sleeping with women, their number shows how manly they are. Whereas girls are considered slutty if they have had a lot of partners, it’s a double standard. So, the next time you are out walking at 7:00am and see a man walking past you on the streets look at him with judging eyes… because he might be taking the walk of shame.

On the other hand, if a girl dressed classy to begin with and made better choices, then she wouldn’t be in that predicament in the first place. So, the moral of the story is respect yourself and you will be respected by others.
