Rosie the Plumber? Not so much…

The problem: I opened a can and threw it in my sink. The top of that can decided to wedge itself perfectly into the drain of my sink. Disclaimer: I was making a Mexican dish and obviously couldn’t do the dishes… so I apologize for the appearance.

The solution: I decided I would fix it myself. I didn’t need anyone’s help. I thought, I am a big strong girl who can fix this. I was confident enough.

The aftermath: I was so proud of myself for getting the can top out — I took photos and called my dad to tell him what his amazingly talented daughter just did. He was proud and asked if I turned the water on yet? I thought to myself.. ohhh crap! I turned the water on… and it leaked!

In Conclusion: If you are like me and feel the need to do things on your own — I recommend assessing the situation first. There is a reason why people are paid to do this for a living. It is good to be confident… but sometimes you need to learn it is okay to ask for help and let others do things for you.
